GMDN: An endoscope with a short, rigid inserted portion intended for the visual examination and treatment of the external auditory canal (the canal from the ear opening to the tympanic membrane or the eardrum). It is inserted into the canal through the opening of the ear during an ear/nose/throat (ENT) procedure. Anatomical images are transmitted to the user by the device through relayed lens optics or a fibreoptic bundle. This device is used for close examinations of anomalies in the structures of the external auditory canal. This is a reusable device. |
